The 2011 wedding season is in full swing and our team is loving the excitement and energy of a new season! In 2010 we brought some new members onto our team to help us continue growing our firm. Lindsay Howes, Lindsay Dierks, and Hattie Cummings are now our Day of Directing consultants. Each of these women have worked as assistants on many Simple Elegance weddings so please join us in celebrating their work as they assume the role of lead consultant!

Lindsay Howes has actually been with the Simple Elegance team since 2008 and has already worked as the lead consultant on a few weddings this season. Lindsay Dierks and Hattie Cummings joined the team in the summer of 2010 and were welcomed by a well experienced team of veterans including Barbara, Julie, Tiffany, and Kristen.

Kindra and Holly continue to hold down the fort playing the role of trainer, mentor, or mother hen depending on whatever the circumstance calls for. They've built a wonderful team who are ready to help make your wedding day a memorable and stress free experience.

Real Weddings: Andrea + Rodney

This week we are featuring the wedding of Andrea and Rodney as shot by VanDeusen Photography. The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and the pictures speak for themselves as to the grand beauty of the church. We love the sweet shot of the rosary tied around the bride's bouquet. Incorporating keepsakes and mementos like this can give your wedding a personal touch unique to you and are able to be passed down through the generations.

The team at VanDeusen captured the bridal party in front of one of Kansas City's famed fountains on the Country Club Plaza. The water provides a fun element to the pictures echoing the energy and liveliness of the party. The reception took place in one of the Downtown Marriott's impressive ballrooms. The Marriott is perfect for large receptions while still maintaining an intimate atmosphere with elements like candlelight and draping fabric.

Congrats Andrea and Rodney! Thanks for letting us share your wedding with you. And thanks to VanDeusen for sharing their images of the festivities.

Real Weddings: Amanda + Rob { Ceremony }

As promised here's the first half of the wedding so big it earned 2 posts! Part of our trouble in narrowing down images was that Jessica from EpagaFoto did such an incredible job of creating beautiful pictures. The pictures were all too good not to share! Thanks again Jessica for sharing your work with us. Amanda and Rob were married at the downtown Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception which always photographs beautifully and is among Kansas City's most impressive locations. One of the sweetest moments of the day (aside from Amanda's father's toast which left all of the Simple Elegance team a little teary) was the couple's exit after their vows. Before receding down the aisle as the new Mr. and Mrs. Amanda stopped Rob in front of her father so he gift Rob with an American Hat Co. 500X cowboy hat. Many of the male guests in attendance ooh'ed and ah'ed (and later informed us that those hats are the much sought after standard in cowboy hats). It was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple. If you haven't seen Amanda and Rob's reception post check it out below.
